It applies to Haiku Home Ltd. and anyone working on our behalf, and it follows British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
We only collect the information we need to provide and manage our cleaning services. This usually includes:
- Your name, service address, email, and phone number.
- Access details you choose to share with us, such as a door or lockbox code, or alarm instructions.
- Notes about your preferences, such as products to use or avoid, or areas needing special care.
- Booking and service history, including dates, scope, and any issues we resolved.
- Payment details, which are handled securely by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number ourselves.
Why we collect it
We use your information only for clear, reasonable purposes:
- To schedule, provide, and manage your cleans.
- To process payments and issue receipts or invoices.
- To communicate with you about bookings, changes, and service.
- To keep records of our services and improve the quality of our work.
We will not use your information for unrelated purposes without first asking you.
Consent
By booking a service with us and providing your information, you consent to us collecting and using it as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time, though doing so may mean we can no longer provide some or all of our services.
How we keep it safe
We protect your information with reasonable safeguards. Access details and personal notes are kept confidential and shared only with team members who need them to do the work. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
We use trusted service providers, such as our payment processor, to run parts of our business. These providers handle your information only as needed to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or destroy it.
Your rights
Under BC privacy law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, and to ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate. Just reach out and we will be glad to help.
